Will Nolan and Katherine Deaton are slowly but surely working back towards a friendlier relationship.

According to US Weekly, Nolan and Deaton, who announced their divorce in 2016, are now on "cordial terms" following a highly publicized custody battle over their daughter.

"Things between Will and Katherine are better than ever," a source told the outlet. "They are more cordial - they are working towards solutions that work for both of them."

Throughout their 7-year-long union and 2-year marriage, Nolan and Deaton together parented their daughter: Sarah, 8. Nolan also shares 13-year-old twins Rambo and Shifra, with his first wife, Erga McKeon. He sees all of his children every few days.

A second source added that Deaton is reportedly "impressed with Will's sobriety and seemingly being in a much happier and better place", as the two navigate their platonic relationship post-divorce.

Nolan has been candid about his struggles with alcoholism in recent years and once referred to his vice as a way to "escape". The Oscar-winning actor spent a year and a half in Alcoholics Anonymous after from splitting with Deaton and has remained sober ever since.
