Amazon cast a wide net in its talent search for the big-budget project, reading actors around the world with casting directors in the UK, US, and Australia. In early June, actress Markella Kavenaugh had been cast.

No details about the characters yet but it is believed that Lelliott and Kavenaugh play the two leads, referred to as Beldor and Tyra, respectively.

Lelliott, whose casting was first reported by Variety, is coming off lead roles in the Netflix film The Dirt and The Maze Runner franchise. Other notable credits include Dunkirk and his role as Joffrey Baratheon on Game of Thrones.
